Roger Williams, former Secretary of State, is preparing to join the battle for the TX United States senate next year, thus far he has collected support from many leading political figures, such as ex president George Bush who's supported his run. Like with the majority of the GOP contenders he believes in a well balanced spending budget and states that he would approve an amendment that will make it illegal for the federal government to spend above the approximated budget for the financial year.Roger Williams, former Secretary of State, is preparing to join the battle for the TX United States senate next year, thus far he has collected support from many leading political figures, such as ex president George Bush who's supported his run. Like with the majority of the GOP contenders he believes in a well balanced spending budget and states that he would approve an amendment that will make it illegal for the federal government to spend above the approximated budget for the financial year.
Roger Williams recommended shrinking government by implementing enormous reform with entitlement packages such as social security and Medicare health insurance. Williams wants to privatize social security in an effort to get the money from the financially reckless federal government and devote that money within the private sector for investments. Medicare beneficiaries should be granted a check so that they can determine their medical care with the private industry in an effort to discover the cheapest and most beneficial solutions to health related needs.
Williams approves of either a flat as well as FairTax strategy and believes either program would be better than today's messy tax code that provides clauses to get out of paying taxes as well as hindrances to corporations that are trying to thrive. A flat tax would institute a predetermined percentage that each individual pays on earnings and takes away the complicated tax rules altogether. The Fair tax would remove all federal, state and other taxation and put into practice a product sales tax where you spend the money for taxes on bought items.
Just like all republican 2012 challengers inside the state Williams discusses the concern of illegal laborers by expressing we should increase border security and establish a hard stand on workers that come across the international border illegitimately, his campaign website doesn't express precisely how he would accomplish this. Williams pushes harder by declaring those who line up and wish to live in America lawfully should be expected to master English and that we ought to put forth legislation to make English our official vernacular for the United States.
Roger Williams takes up social conservative issues as well and states he's unquestionably been Pro life and believes that when an egg is concepted life begins and doesn't stop right up until purely natural death, he declares he would not want anyone 'messing' with Second amendment privileges, and he declares a marriage is between just one male and female. He would take a stand to combat any piece of legislation that attempts to transform marriage.
Roger Williams should have a powerful support system for the reason that he is a well-recognized figure compared with several of the alternative republican contenders for the senate. He was initially chosen by Rick Perry to the position as Secretary in 2005 till he abandoned it in '07 to discover other career opportunities. He may have an excellent early advantage if he can raise cash for his senate run.
