Some webmasters try to use articles from free content directories to get visitors to their site and make some money. This is mostly important for those who have just begun working as an affiliate for several companies and do not yet have any funding, yet need to built small niche websites to visitors to their site so that they can begin making revenue.

However, this kind of technique does not really guarantee an accurate website that can be full of visitors. There are also reasons as to why this can also ruin your sacrifices.

Problem 1 - Search engines' drawbacks

Although search engines can help your website be exposed to searchers, it still does not guarantee that you can ensnare a lot of them. In fact if you have topics similar to other websites, the chances of getting good rankings will dwindle.

Good rankings are vital to get because it's one colossal way to tempt the users from clicking to your website. Otherwise, you will only receive low profits. If you want search engines to prioritize your link, try using search engine optimization.

Problem 2 - Getting visitors to click

Even though you made a website and you got some visitors, it does not mean that you've fully met your goal. Remember that the hard part is making and tempting the visitors to click your links. Nevertheless, once they realize that your content is parallel to other websites, they may prefer to go to those sites that are more reputable and believed to be credible.

If your content is just duplicated from other sites, you will be exposed as someone who does not really know what they are talking about and therefore will not look heavily on your product recommendations. This will reduce the number of website visitors who will be willing to click through.

Problem 3 - The catch of author bylines

Majority of free contents will allow you to place your links only if you will also place the author's byline under your content. This can become a problem because instead of the visitor clicking your link, he or she will be going to the author's byline link instead. This is the whole point of having free contents and placing your website to these places is definitely risky.

Once you put these three problems together, you are looking at a serious decline in revenue simply because you used free website content from article directories. Although it may be the only option for some, if you have the funds to buy your own original content, then you should go this route. If you don't have the finds, however, you may be better off writing your own content and then hiring professional services once you have made a profit to work with.
