In this article I am going to discuss five steps in finding a niche to blog about. If you are interested in niche marketing or just interested in finding various topics to post about, this article is for you

Before I start, I want to write a few words on what niche blogging is. It is really what it sounds like: blogging about a niche. Often times Niche Blogging is something done for the purpose of selling a specific product in a niche (e.g. dog training manual). Also, you yourself can be the product as you develop yourself as an expert in a niche (e.g. real estate flipping). For many people who want to make money online blogging, Niche Blogs and Niche Product Blogs are a great way to start. For some people who are dedicated to hobbies, writing a blog about your hobby is another way to Niche Blog. That being said, this article will help you not just find new Niches but also how to determine if the Niche you want to be in will be a good one for blogging.

With that small explanation done, here we go with five steps to finding a great niche to start a blog about.

First: it helps if the niche already has some money on it. Some people will try to invent brand-new markets. While being novel is a good idea, niche marketing is often about where people are already spending a lot of money so you can just put up a blog as a way to stick your head in the niche and say "Hey, I have a site here too! Come visit and bring your money". In other words, it's a good idea if money is already being spent in a niche if you plan to Niche Blog as a way to make income.

Second: Now that you have found a niche with buyers, you need to find something to provide them with whether for free or for sale. That means a product or service that the hungry niche will value. For example if the niche is dog training, provide posts that are unique and/or of high quality. Include links to sell a high quality dog training ebook. If your niche is real estate flipping, provide high quality one-on-one coaching. If you don't want to come up with your own product, there are a ton of great products out there you can resell through resell rights or affiliate marketing.

Third: Now that you have a crowd of buyers and a product to sell, you need to focus and take action in your niche. Many internet marketers fail because of distraction from the overwhelming amount of information on the internet regarding internet marketing. Or they fail because of impatience. Niche marketing and any online marketing takes time to build so being able to focus and do daily tasks in your niche marketing business is a must.

Fourth: Pick a niche that interests you. Pick something that if all else fails at least you are interested in what you are doing. If you are really interested in basketball, why then choose a niche blog about wedding planning? A lot of internet marketing is trial and error and tedious tasks: being interested in your niche will make it fun for you and then before you know it you'll find you have traffic to your blog from the niche community you are targeting.

Fifth: think about supply and demand and if there is a huge supply of niche marketing sites and not much demand, maybe it's better to pick another niche. Give yourself a reasonable opportunity to be a success online. And this will be made only more difficult if you pick a niche that is saturated with more supply than demand.

That is it! Overall, realize niche marketing can be tricky. Because in some instances you will want saturated markets (not necessarily over saturated) because it also depends on the supply and demand of a market. If the market is saturated with sellers, but there are enough buyers in the market, it could still be a profitable niche. All in all it just takes some trial and error, some experience, and a bit of luck also. Just keep working on those five steps: find a buying niche, find a great product, be willing to do the daily tedious tasks, find a niche that interests you, and give yourself a chance to succeed.

Remember it is very cheap to start a blog and start an online business, so you can have many chances over and over again. It will ultimately be up to you to fail often in between your successes. By following this advice, you will be able to find many niches over time and employ a variety of internet marketing techniques so that in the end you can also potentially make a good income as well. So keep all this in mind and have fun going out to do research and start a blog in your niche!
