There's the traditional way to make money as a blogger and the super fast nontraditional way. You've probably heard about the traditional way. Start a blog about something you are passionate about. Write post daily. Then monetize it. So what exactly is this nontraditional way to make money blogging? There's the traditional way to make money as a blogger and the super fast nontraditional way. You've probably heard about the traditional way. Start a blog about something you are passionate about. Write post daily. Then monetize it. So what exactly is this nontraditional way to make money blogging?
First of all it's not a way; it's actually a collection of different ways that include the following:
*Start your blog on an area that people are searching for knowledge on. Then market the site using link building campaigns, videos on YouTube, and social media like Twitter, Facebook and Digg.
*Use affiliate promotional tactics and start a blog with the single focus of selling one item. For instance you could make a website to push the Nikon D7000 Digital camera.
*Create a niche blog on a topic that has a high pay per click rate and then charge advertisers to place ads on your site. I have seen this done with both direct ads, ad networks (like Google Adsense), and the good old fashion affiliate marketing ads.
How does nontraditional blogging differ from traditional blogging?
Biggest variant - you have to work on traditional blogging on a daily reoccurring basis. Writing post on a daily basis. Building your email list. Being active in your blog community and comment discussions. Eventually you gain popularity as a blogger. Your website visitors enjoy reading your perspectives and return to your site over and over again.
In time, and if done right, a traditional blog will become an authority site. One example would be the about website but on a smaller scale. For instance if you are into golfing, you might make a blog about all things related to golfing. Golf techniques, golf clubs, and the best golf clubs. You might even add a few YouTube videos with some footage on improving your golf swing.
Nontraditional blogging is a set it and forget or set it and check in once a month type of activity. You focus on a very narrow subject (an example might be tank tops within the shirt category). Then you load the site up with information (sometimes a lot of information and other times a little) on the topic. Although these sites do eventually gain some authority, they don't achieve the level or authority that traditional blogs receive.
So why choose nontraditional blogging over traditional blogging. One reason is because nontraditional blogs are faster to create, tend to make money faster, and you don't have to write blog post every day like traditional bloggers do.
