Make Money At Home But Avoid The Myths
One thing that is a little bit frustrating about the online business industry is the fact that people continually fall into the trap of thinking that it is easy to make money at home. As a result, "get rich quick" schemes continue to thrive as the people who believe that it is possible to make tens of thousands of dollars in their first month in business keep funding such schemes with their naivety.
Most people starting out with the ambition to make money at home probably do not fully understand what they are getting involved in. Usually they understand the Internet, and the fact that that they can pretty much access the world from their home computer. They most likely extend this understanding of the Internet to also allow them to simply purchase a website from some scheme, and have others see the website and become interested, just as they saw someone else's website, and became interested.
Unfortunately, this kind of thinking leads many people straight into a trap. Thus, they fall victim to many make money at home opportunities which are promoted as "Get Rich In A Month" opportunities. Take it from me, if it were that easy to get rich, they would be doing it without letting you know about it.
Maybe it is easier to understand by comparing an online business startup with an offline business startup.
You always want to keep your startup expenses low. Therefore, with an online business, we can assume that you can start it in your basement or garage. This can be likened to registering your domain name, and obtaining website hosting in the online venue.
Next, your offline business needs something to sell. This "something" can either be a product or service. An online business also needs a product or service which it can sell to the public. Therefore, if a so-called online business requires that you make money at home by simply recruiting other members to join and pay money, this is not a product or service, and therefore not a business.
Now that you have determined what is and is not a business, and have your product or service to offer, how do you get customers? In both businesses, online and offline, you will need to do some advertising so that people become aware of your business. With an online business, you will specifically need to promote your website so that others will know that your business is out there.
As your offline business begins to take off, you will find the need to bring in other resources to assist with the additional business. You may also outgrow your garage or basement, or simply require space with better accessibility for more people. Similarly, an online business will also require more resources as it grows. More often than not, the needs of an online business are "digital" as opposed to the "physical" needs of an offline business. For example, as an online business grows, you may need to upgrade your website hosting plan to allow a greater bandwidth so that you can accommodate an increased volume of visitors to your website.
The point of this compare and contrast exercise was simply to illustrate that an online business does not automatically enable you to make money at home in the tens of thousands overnight. Of course there is always the odd exceptions to the rule. However, nearly every new business takes time and consistent effort to be successful. If anyone tells you otherwise, they red flag them. I am willing to be that their so-called opportunity does not have a product or service which people are willing to purchase of their own volition.
Zero Cost. Zero Obligation.
